Boylan calls for vigilance following recent wave of burglaries in Stoneybatter

Sinn Féin’s Janice Boylan has called on greater Gardaí visibility in the Stoneybatter area following a recent wave of home burglaries. The Dublin City Councillor who is vice-chair of the Joint Policing Committee was speaking after raising her concerns with local Gardaí.

Speaking today, Councillor Boylan said,

“I’m becoming increasingly concerned about the recent spate of burglaries across the Stoneybatter community. People, particularly our older citizens are at their wits end with worry. I’ve spoken to people who are afraid to leave their home in case they’re targeted. I’ve raised this with local Gardaí and I’ve requested additional resources for the area and an increase in Gardaí visibility.

“As vice-chair of the Central Joint Policing Committee, I’ll also be raising this matter at our next meeting to ensure that appropriate and effective resources are provided locally to deter these criminals and ensure prosecutions. I’d strongly urge people to be vigilant, to look after their neighbours and to report any suspicious behaviour immediately to the Gardaí.” ENDS
