Boylan secures community facilitates for O’Devaney Development

Sinn Féin’s elected representative for the Stoneybatter area, Councillor Janice Boylan has welcomed confirmation that community facilities are to be included in the O’Devaney Gardens development proposal. Councillor Boylan who is the joint Chair of the O’Devaney Gardens Consultative Forum has been making strong representations to Dublin City Council that community facilities for local residents be front and centre of the project.

Speaking earlier today after the announcement, Councillor Boylan said,

“Since the beginning of this planning project, I have been lobbying strongly that much needed community facilities be included in the overall project.  In terms of the Infirmary Road site, some proposed facilities had been removed from the original plan so I’m delighted that these have now been included again.  I have made strong representation on behalf of the community that their needs and rights be centre to the overall project.

Calling on the construction work to begin immediately, Councillor Boylan concluded,

“This is a good news story for the area. It’s now important that construction work commences at the earliest opportunity so that we can rebuild a strong, proud and thriving community in the O’Devaney neighbourhood. I look forward to seeing this development reach fruition in the time ahead as I continue working closely with the community to make it a reality.”
