Fagan concerned at speeding in East Wall

Dublin Sinn Féin’s Gaye Fagan Councillor for East Wall has today raised serious concerns about speeding in the area and has also launched a petition to demand Dublin City Council immediately put in place speed restrictions for the area.

Speaking today, Councillor Fagan said,

“There is a increasing concern among residents in the area about traffic speeding through East Wall that will result in someone being seriously injured unless corrective action is immediately taken. City commuters are using the district as a ‘rat run’ in and out of the city with little or no consideration being shown to the local community. I have started a petition calling on Dublin City Council to immediately introduce speed restrictions before someone is killed or seriously injured.”

Councillor Fagan continued,

“I highlighted these concerns some months ago to DCC calling on a traffic management plan for the area which was unfortunately rejected by officials. I will introduce another motion in the weeks ahead and will continue this campaign until appropriate traffic calming measures become a reality in East Wall.”  CRIOCH
